My name is Matthew Robertson, and I love to make videos that inspire and engage people in unique ways!

I graduated from the film program at Biola University in Southern California, I have worked with a wide variety of companies and individuals from recording artist 'Lecrae', author and speaker Jefferson Bethke, Seattle Pacific University, Sean and Catherine Lowe (ABC's 'The Bachelor') among others.

In 2012 Jefferson Bethke I filmed and edited the viral video "Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus" which featured and was featured on NPR and CNN, and was the number one viewed video on YouTube for two straight days and now 30 million total views.

The next year, Jefferson Bethke and I spoke at the NRB Convention, hosting a workshop entitled, "How to build a YouTube Platform and Make Your Video Go Viral" and were featured in Google's '2012 Zeitgeist Year In Review".

Since then I've been blessed by opportunities to meet and collaborate with some amazing people, build relationships, and establish working relationships with all types of professionals in the industry.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Great question! Though gear is not everything in a production, it does play a factor in the execution of the final product. I film everything in high-bitrate 4K footage, and film with the new Sony A7SIII camera. I use mostly Sony lenses with that and have been loving the results.

I edit my videos primarily in Final Cut Pro X, and have been doing so since 2011. As far as audio editing I use Logic Pro X to produce multiple podcasts, as well as the industry-standard iZotope RX to repair and polish audio.

For the camera nerds (Additional Gear): DJI Ronin Stabilizer, Aputure LED Lights w/ glow brand soft boxes, Sanken Cos-11D Lavalier Mic, Audio Technica AT4053b hypercardiod mic, Fostex DC R302 audio recorder, Schatler FSB4 tripod, and much more.

  • That’s a great question! So I have over a decade of experience both in videography and editing, so I am able to bring a lot to the table for both!

Some of my favorite things to work on are documentaries/behind the scenes work which I been lucky enough to do for various clients, promotional work/commercials for companies/authors/speakers, some podcasts that you may have heard before, interviews, social media content, masterclasses and video courses and much more!

Basically anything that lets me get creative and see a production from concept to finished product is always lots of fun!

  • Now we’re getting to the good questions! Being in LA County I am blessed with quite honestly too many good options. My current #1 is ‘Colonia Publica’ in Whittier who has a rotating menu of some of the most mouth watering tacos you could possibly imagine. A close second is anything that ‘The Taco Stand’ makes.
