Sony shooters have been waiting for an update to the wonderful Sony 24-70gm for quite a while now and on April 27 we were rewarded with the announcement of the NEW Sony 24-70 f2.8 GM II!

This is a pretty major update to the already legendary lens which sheds almost 200g from the body, updated the focus motors to Sony’s new linear focus motors, adds an aperture ring, and features lots of optical enhancements.

The weight savings alone are worth so much, but the pretty significant optical enhancements as well should make this a perfect lens that you could film so many projects with alone.

I actually went ahead and preordered one from BHPhoto and although it won’t be releasing until June 24th, I can’t wait to get shooting with it!
